The kind of work we take on

Six situations that bring clients to us, what we actually do in each, and what you're left with afterwards. Named references are available on request.

Software Custom business systems

The process still runs on spreadsheets

When this comes up

Stock, orders or job tracking live across linked Excel files that only one or two people fully understand. Reconciliation eats days, and decisions get made on numbers that are already stale.

What we do

Study the process as it actually runs, then build a web-based system around it — role-based access, validation at entry, automatic reporting. We migrate history and run both systems in parallel before switching over.

What you get

Current numbers instead of last week's, no re-typing between systems, and the source code and documentation as your property.

Hardware Fleet rollout

The machines are holding the team back

When this comes up

Ageing workstations crash under real workloads, but replacing them all at once means stopping billable work for a week.

What we do

Specify machine classes against your actual files and software, assemble and burn-in test in-house, then deploy in stages — often over weekends — with data migrated ahead of each cutover.

What you get

A standardised fleet that's cheaper to support, an asset register with warranty dates, and minimal disruption during the switch.

Networking Infrastructure

The network keeps dropping

When this comes up

Devices disconnect, coverage is patchy, and previous "fixes" added more consumer access points to a flat, unsegmented network.

What we do

Run a site survey, re-cable to a managed core switch, position enterprise access points properly, and separate traffic into VLANs for operations, office and guest.

What you get

A network that holds under load, documented so the next person can work on it, and segmented so one compromised device isn't a company-wide problem.

Continuity Backup & recovery

Nobody has ever tested the backup

When this comes up

There is a backup job. It has never been restored from, and often nobody is monitoring whether it still runs. Silent failure is the normal state.

What we do

Rebuild on a 3-2-1 model with an onsite appliance and an encrypted offsite copy, add monitored alerting, and run a documented restore drill so recovery time is a measured number rather than a hope.

What you get

A written recovery plan with tested timings, and alerts that reach a human when a job fails.

Software Integration

The same data is typed in three times

When this comes up

Orders arrive by email, get re-entered into accounting, then re-entered again into dispatch. Every hop is a chance for a transcription error nobody catches until a customer complains.

What we do

Build a validated intake point, connect it to your existing accounting or ERP package by API, and generate downstream documents automatically from the confirmed record.

What you get

Data entered once, fewer errors reaching customers, and staff time back from re-keying.

Support AMC transition

IT is only ever handled in a crisis

When this comes up

A technician gets called when something breaks. Costs are unpredictable, the same faults recur, and failures interrupt work at the worst moments.

What we do

Audit every site, build an asset register with warranty dates, and move you onto an AMC with scheduled preventive visits and defined response times.

What you get

A budgeted annual cost instead of surprise invoices, and problems found before they stop work.

Standard on every project

What you get regardless of size

Whether it's a single application or a fifty-machine rollout, the same things come with it. These aren't extras we quote separately.

  • A written scope agreed before work starts
  • Named point of contact for the duration
  • Progress updates at agreed intervals, including bad news
  • Testing evidence — not just "it works on our machine"
  • Handover documentation, credentials and asset records
  • A briefing session for the people who'll use it daily
  • A defined support arrangement after go-live
Due diligence

Want to speak to someone we've done this for?

We'll put you in touch with a client working on something comparable, with their permission. We'd rather you heard it from them than read it here.

Have something similar in mind?

If one of these looks like your situation, tell us how yours differs. We'll be straight about whether it's a two-week fix or a six-month project.
